Meet the Maker
My woodworking story began when i was approximately eleven years old. My mother let my sister and I go visit our relatives in Alabama for the summer and I caught the bug. My aunt let my sister and I go with our cousins to a local bible vacation camp for a couple of weeks. There was a man there teaching children how to build something out of wood. I was able to make something with my hands for the first time in my life and I cannot describe the feeling of accomplishment that overwhelmed me then and I still today, 50 plus years later I still get that feeling when I finish a project.
Making people smile when you give them something that you poured your heart into still makes me feel overwhelmed. I will probably be woodworking until my last breath and that’s a great feeling to have.
How it’s Made
This clock is made of Beech and Walnut hardwood. Painting the body of the and contrasting a black splatter design on top of the paint. Putting a walnut top just warms the clock and achieves a two tone finish.
